If a wound's anatomical site has been described incorrectly, it can be changed using the Change Anatomical Site screen. This may occur if, for example, a wound near an elbow is described as occurring on the elbow but would be more accurately described as occurring on the forearm.
Changing an anatomical site involves four steps, and the process can be canceled at any time before the last step. To change an anatomical site, select Data Management > Wounds, then select Change Anatomical Site from the Wound Administration screen. The first Change Anatomical Site screen will be displayed:
Click on the required patient, then on the Next button. The second step will be displayed:
If the patient selected in Step 1 has no wound defined, you will be prompted to select another patient.
For Step 2, select the wound whose anatomical site you wish to change from the drop-down box, then click Next. The third step will be displayed:
Use the drop-down boxes to set a new anatomical site, then click Next. A screen will be displayed summarizing the changes that will be made.
Click Cancel to cancel the process, Back to go back and make changes or Finish to update the anatomical site. Once you click Finish, you will be asked to confirm your choice.
